Unforgettable experience of going to the mountains on a rainy day!
Weather is unpredictable and it often destroys all the plans made. Especially when rainy season ์ฅ๋ง์ฒ starts in Korea (second half of June) it is difficult to find a spot to go with friends. But if you are fond of mountains as much as me, then Palgongsan Cable Car is an ideal place for you!

Palgong Mountain is a must-see mountain, one of the most famous ones in Korea. Palgongsan Cable Car is located on the north-east of Daegu metropolitan. It took me one and half hours to get there from Kyungpook National University. We traveled on two buses with transition and do not be scared that the bus is arriving at some remote village. Then we went 5-10 minutes from the bus station and came to the Cable Car Entering. The enter is on second floor, the stairs look so romantic with white baloons.

Entering and prices
Round trip ticket costs 11,000 won. There is no limited time to come back, just be sure to return before 19:00 (closing time).
Cable Car line is quite long, it takes around 7 minutes to arrive at final destination. So you will have enough time to enjoy beautiful forest and all the nature around. But one of the disadvantages of bad weather is that you cannot view all the beautiful scenary during cable car route. However, fog, on opposite, had a magical charm to us.

The first place you arrive to will be a viewing platform with coffeeshop and cafe. There was also a cute sculpture of rabbit on the tortoise in the center of the observation desk.ย
Forest bathing
On the viewing platform you can also find a map and a beautiful legend. It says that a phoenix rised in Palgongsan Mountain and that is why this place has a bright good energy.
Also there is written about forest bathing. Forest bathing has positive effect on our body, clears out all harmful bacteria. It helps rehabilitate from tiredness and stress. If we walk slowly for 20-30 minutes in the forest, we will be able to relax and separate ourselves from busy city life. Sounds nice. Let’s take a walk.

Buckwheat noodles
But before walk we entered to the coffeeshop and cafe. This cafe is situated 820m above the sea level. It is a real hotplace in social media, because in this cafe they are serving a special plain kuksu (buckwheat noodles), which flies in the air! It has been shown on TV too and became really popular. It costs 9000 won. Many people go up here especially to have this meal. So if you had all the way till here, it must be tried.
There is even a gigantic noodles statue to take a picture with! Fans of noodles will be satisfied.

After sitting some time in the cafe, we went down. Not far from cafe there is a wish rock, where you can attach a coin with your wish or write a small note on a heart. Something precious to yourself.

Wish rock
Starting from the main observation desk there are a few routes to go. And it is really convenient that all the roads are already made. So although it is actually mountains, we were not hiking. You can have a light walk, take photos, stop and rest, breathe fresh air and enjoy all the scenery.
Love Road
One of the routes provided is called a “Love road” with a “Love Garden”, you can easily recognize this way because of the tiger guarding the enter.

Walking this road, you can see 5 types of love (5 places with hearts). Beautiful love, sincere love, eternal love, healthy love and happy love. If you came here as a couple, it is possible to hang a lock together or write down a love note. I came with friends so we just took some pictures and passed by.

Next we are going up to one of the peaks and enjoy nature. One of the wondeful sides of coming to this place in rainy weather is the smell of the forest. And, of course, the fact that there is no people at all. You can be absolutely on your own, take pictures wherever you want without people on the background. I expect that in good weather there is really a crowd of people.
Returning back we were taking other way, to another peak. But first, there were some interesting photozones again.
Peak view
ย Here is the main peak and the most stunning view of all. Mountains in fog look so magic and mysterious. We spent a lot of time in this spot. It really was a healing time for us.
We did not want to return back, but it has already started darkening and the cable car was about to close. So here are some pictures of our way back. Traveling in a Cable Car in fog, when you do not see anything around, is also unforgettable emotions.
