Being a guy who started exploring the world of non-vegetarian cuisine recently after changing his country and shifting abroad, I seemed to have found quite the liking to it. Be it pork, chicken, lamb or duck. I still canโt get myself around to try sea-food quite yet although I did try shrimp pizza once. LOL!! I canโt eat beef because of my religious beliefs so, that is also an exception. But, having explored for just a short period of time only till now, I guess I have to taste many more dishes but till date these are by far the best Korean Styled Chicken dishes I have ever had: –
๋ญ๋ณถ์ํ (Dak-bokkeum-tang/ Braised Spicy Chicken)
This is a traditionalย Korean dishย made by boiling chunks ofย chopped chickenย with vegetables and spices. The ingredients are sometimes stir-fried before being boiled.ย It is aย jjimย orย jorim-like dish, and the recipe varies across the Korean peninsula from outlet to outlet. Common ingredients includeย potatoes,ย carrots, green and redย chili peppers, dried red chili peppers,ย scallions,ย onions,ย garlic,ย ginger,ย gochujangย (chili paste),ย gochutgaruย (chili powder),ย soy sauce, andย sesame oil. There is food outlet by the name of Mamboโs Stir-Fried Kitchen inside the campus of Gachon Univeresity where this dish is available to my nearest location. This is one of the first Korean dishes I have ever tried and it was just amazing. The spiciness of the gravy is totally addictive and the aroma lives with you for the entire day! The side dishes and the fish boiled soup with chopped scallions are one of my favorite things about Korean Cuisine and the yellow radish and the fish cake are the most delicious for me!

Cost: 6500 KRW per serving with Option for having more rice without any additional cost.
๋ญ๋๋ฆฌํ (Dak-Dori-tang/ Braised Spicy Whole Chicken)
This dish is quite similar to Dak-bokkeum-tang with respect to ingredients but varies in being a tremendously gravy filled pan with whole parts of braised chicken like legs, wings, breasts and ribs braised and then stewed within the gravy rather than chopped chicken and also, one pan of this dish can easily serve 3-4 people in one sitting. But one thing I found interesting is that it tastes slightly better and fulfilling.
Instagram์์ ์ด ๊ฒ์๋ฌผ ๋ณด๊ธฐ
Cost: 24,000 KRW for Medium Pan and 28,000 KRW for Large Pan.
Tip: Get the large pan, it is more fulfilling.
๊ณ ์ถ ๊ฐ์ฅ ์นํจ (Hot Pepper Soy sauce Chicken)
Out of all three of these dishes, this one tops the list. This is by far the best chicken I have ever had till date. The separately fried chicken seasoned in the garlic and hot pepper and soy sauce just gets me. The aroma and the sticky nature of the chicken pieces just melts my heart. The chicken is well cooked and the seasoning just takes it to a level above than the normal fried spicy chicken. It is really tough to not get hands on this the minute it hits the table.

The food outlet where I like to visit the most has many other options to try too but I hesitate to experiment with it and like the bar that has already been set by this dish. The chefs of this place have work experience from KFC for 16 years. Combined with either beer or cider, this dish is the ultimate supremacy for a proper meal that satisfies both the hunger and the cravings.

Price: 12,000 KRW for 8 piece set.

If this helped incept a little craving then do try out these dishes and if there are any more dishes I might like, let me know !!
