Myeongdong is on the 4th subway line (blue), the nearest exit to the main road is the 6th exit. Inside the subway are hung the posters of Korean celebrities. I like the BTS group, their posters are also there. Many foreigners are photographed against the background of these posters. Inside the metro there are also shops with clothes, shoes, and accessories, but it is better to go outside and shop there. Because there are so many shops on the street for every taste and budget.
ABC Mart is a shoe store that collects all the popular sneaker brands (like Adidas, Nike, Vans, Converse, New balance and etc.).
Popular cosmetics stores that I advise you to look at Myeongdong:
- Budget and good cosmetics sold in the Nature Republic, Innisfree, Tony Moly, Clio, Missha.
- A little expensive but very good cosmetics sold in Laneige, Banila co, IOPE, Sulwhasoo, Hera, O Hui.
Also, don’t forget to check out the Olive young store. It contains all the popular brands of cosmetics for face, body, and hair. There are both decorative and makeup products. Snacks, chocolates, and vitamins are also sold to maintain health.
This is how restaurants and shops look like outside. Usually, there are always a lot of people here, but because of the virus, their percentage has decreased many times and the streets look empty.
Also, various street foods are sold here: strawberries in caramel, fresh fruit in glasses, kimpub with different fillings, sausages with cheese, lobster, spicy tokpokki, delicious 잡채, fried octopus, pancakes with vegetables, ice cream with oreo, sweet cookies, etc.

Myeongdong also has one of the largest Daiso stores. This is a store where you can find absolutely everything at low prices. There are cosmetics and household goods, goods for the kitchen and construction, there are also food, drinks, cookies and sweets, as well as clothes. Do not forget to look into the store. Having visited this store, you definitely will not leave without shopping, because buying goods there is most profitable. Especially if you are a student who recently came to Korea. You will find all necessary essential goods there.
As you know, Korea has very cheap, but very high-quality socks. There are socks with different pictures and faces of k-pop idols, with cute Korean phrases, with cat ears, etc. They are also sold right on the street, so do not miss the opportunity and buy it. I think you will not regret it.

This is a popular cafe with cats, which opened in November 2009. Here you can play with cats while enjoying a cold drink. A network of these cafes is also located in Gangnam and Hongdae.
This cafe is very easy to find on the map. The entrance costs 10.000 won (for students the entrance is 9.000 and after 21.30 the entrance fee is 5.000 won/drinks must be purchased separately). Workers immediately give visitors instructions on how to handle cats.
Cats are very cute and calm, we practically did not see how they bite or fight with each other. You can buy cat food for an additional cost and feed them by hand. And the cafe workers are very friendly.
In this cafe there are about 20 cats and they are all large and well-groomed. I was pleased that the cafe does not have an unpleasant smell, as in some other institutions.
All people followed the instructions well and cats were not afraid of people. On average, many visitors sit in this cafe for about 30-50 minutes. I really liked it there and I advise all my friends to go there.

This is a popular restaurant chain where you can taste chicken in various sauces. There they cook it really tasty. We ate chicken in garlic sauce and we really enjoyed it. Cooked chicken meat is very tender and juicy.
After shopping, you always want to eat something tasty and satisfying, so if you don’t know where they cook deliciously, I recommend going here. We were very pleased.

#3. Sulbing Myeongdong
Sulbing means “snow ice” in Korean.
The Cafe is very well designed. The design is simple and tasteful. Inside, warm lighting, but always noisy, because many people come.
The dessert in the photo is called – Melon Sulbing. Inside the dessert there are slices of cheesecake, and pour over the condensed milk on top. You are given a knife and a melon, which is on top, cut yourself. Solbin is a popular Korean dessert that is often eaten in the summer.
Prices are not very expensive. One dessert can be eaten by four, three, and two people. The portions are quite large.
