Oedo Botania _ a hidden gem on the sea
Oedo-Botania is a marine botanical garden in Hallyeo Maritime National Park. Coming here to visit you will fall in love for sure with a beautiful view of the crystal blue South Sea and surrounding landscape. At this semi tropical island, the European and Korean style blend harmoniously. Moreover, Oedo Botaniaโs weather is so nice. Itโs not too hot on summer and not too cold in winter. You will need to take ferry ride to access the island. Then, you will have about 90 minutes to explore its charm.
Follow the instruction, you will pass by and will explore 16 beautiful destinations of the island.

After getting off the boat you will see the arrangement of multi-national sculptures that symbolize Oedo and the harmony of nature.

Walking through a palm tree lined steep slope you will see the world of cactus, a representative plant in the desert, and various types of aloe, agave, and duckweed. In the summer season, you can enjoy the flowers and colorful flowers of the old Brazilian coastal fan and generals, and rare aloe flowers in the winter.

And now is Venus Garden. This romantic garden is designed after the motif of the Buckingham Palaceโs garden. If you come here on May, you can have a chance to admire rose blossoms and camellia around this area.

After Venus Garden is a beautiful Benvenuto Garden, which means ‘welcome’ in Italian. There are so many kinds of flowers here. Each season has its own flowers such as tulips and poppies in spring, hydrangea and angel trumpets in summer, lantanas and bush sage in autumn, and camellia and firethorn in winter.
On the island, there is a place that is called a stairway to heaven where 8,000 trees and garden trees well-trimmed in various shapes make a beautiful tapestry. As you go down the stairs, you will feel a strong floral scent of various rare plants. The more you go down the strong the scent is and itโs look like they are secretly hidden and you are an explorer.

From the island, you can get a very nice view to the sea. And you may feel that the island is really like a floating gem on the sea.
At the end of the course, the scenery somehow looks like Santorini.
There is only one little coffee shop and one souvenir shop on the island so if you are thirsty or a little hungry or want to buy some souvenirs you should take a rest there.
TIP: We need to walk to explore the whole island so be make sure that your shoes are comfortable. The scenery is full of colorful flowers and trees so you should wear light color clothes to have nice photos.
And finally, be careful with your time. You only have 90 minutes to explore the island. Donโt miss your ferry ride.
