When we travel we sure do like to try new food and new things, especially new and traditional dishes of the place we are visiting. But during a trip is also really good when we find food we are already used to, it kinda feels like home. What if I tell you can find a perfect combination of western food and Korean food in the heart of Seoul? That’s right, today I’ll be introducing to you the Pizza Mall Hongdae branch. Located nearby exit 1 of Hongik University Station, you will meet a delicious and new experience when going to Pizza Mall (Hongdae Branch).
Pizza Mall is a pizza buffet-style restaurant where you try “all you can eat” for one hour and a half. As a Brazilian person, I was really used to eating pizza buffet, with a lot of different flavors for the pizzas, and honestly felt a little sad that there wasn’t anything like this here in Korea. But I was proven wrong when I found Pizza Mall. In this post, I will introduce to you the Hongdae branch, because it’s one of the biggest, but you can find smaller (but also great!) branches in a lot of different parts of Seoul. This post is for pizza lovers like me.
How does it work?

Pizza Mall works with a buffet, which means that after you pay (check the prices at the end of this post!) and check for the table, you can serve yourself with how much food you want to eat, and how many times you can during one hour and thirty minutes. The buffet has around seven different flavors of pizza, including famous flavors such as cheese and pepperoni pizza. You can also find some very “koreanish” flavors, like sweet and sour garlic with cheese, sweet potato and bulgogi pizza (which is basically a combination of a lot of ingredients, really tasty!).

You can actually serve yourself in how many dishes you like. Because the buffet doesn’t have only pizza, they also have pasta, chicken, sausage, salad, fruits, and much more “side dishes” to your pizza. Usually, they have 2 flavors of pasta (cream and tomato sauce) and a bunch of other stuff you can take to eat until you are full. The food is very fresh and well prepared. Of course not as in a fancy pizza or pasta restaurant, but it’s worthy enough considering both the price and the fact that you will eat as much as you can for one hour and a half.

Since I love pizza, I go to Pizza Mall very often! But I took a picture of the last time I went there, and as you can see there is a lot of food: three pepperoni slices, the polemic Hawaiian pizza (which is from far the best one I have tried in Korea) and two very Korean pizzas. The garlic and the combinations ones I mentioned earlier in this post. I also put a hot dog bite and fried chicken on my plate. After eating all of that, I got some more pizza slices, pasta, and more hot dog bites. Everything was divine and I ate until I was very full.
One of the best things about Pizza Mall is that it includes beverages and desserts in the price you pay. That means you won’t be thirsty at all during your meal. They serve you with a lot of soft drinks options, such as coke and sprite. There are also other types of beverages (alcoholic beverages are not included!), but honestly, I feel like the combination of pizza and soda is a win, there is no match for it.
Jumping to the desserts, there is also a buffet with so many options you will wish you would have two stomachs. In Hongdae Branch, they have a really cute and cool waffle station, where you can make your own waffle, and decorate it as you like it. You can even put chocolate from a chocolate fountain on it, which is hella cool. They have instructions in English, and it’s pretty intuitive – if you have ever used a waffle machine, this will be no problem to you at all. The waffle was just divine! Besides the waffle, they also had brownies with whipping cream and ice cream. Both went really well with the waffle, I really felt like I ate my dessert at a fancy place.

My advice is: prepare your stomach and go during lunch, so the price will be even north worth it if compared to dinner. Enjoy the different flavors of pizza and be opened to trying new combinations of food, ones you didn’t think of before. It’s a great option to go with your friends! Check the prices for it below and enjoy yourself at Pizza Mall!
