About Jungmun beach (์ค๋ฌธํด์์์ฅ) in Jeju Island
As we know Jeju Island (Jejudo) is one of the Korea’s most popular tourist destination and when we go for a trip to Jeju, of course we should not leave without visiting any beach as Island is famous for its beautiful, scenery and unique beaches not only among Koreans but also among foreign visitors. I think best time for travelling is certainly summer. Despite of current situation in South Korea, I traveled to Jeju with my friends for a week, following the guidelines and rules for our security. But we hadn’t worried about it because these days in Jeju there aren’t many confirmed cases. So let me share about this popular beach called Jungmun Beach (์ค๋ฌธํด์์์ฅ) in Jeju. Actually it is our first place where we visited and got tanned a lot from the first day of our trip. We thought Jeju is not so hot and humidity is not also high comparing to other cities, but we were wrong. My friend who is living in Jeju said that especially this year Jeju also became hot with high humidity.

As you can see, beach starts its journey with palm trees which really gives good feeling. Right away we started taking beautiful pictures as it’s impossible not to enjoy beauty of this beach. Jungmun Beach is a beach in Saekdal-dong, in the city of Seogwipo-si, Jeju Island. The beach is about 560 meters in length and 50 meters in width, and is well-received in terms of water quality, landscape, safety, and operational conditions. Beach is sorrunded by cliffs and its sandy beach and panorama is so romantic. In particular, the pride of Jungmun Beach is that you can enjoy a variety of water leisure activities such as surfing, kayaking, water skiing, wind surfing, scuba diving, rafting and para-sailing which are great for an exciting summer vocation. Because of the strong waves, it’s popular for surfing as well. However, if sometimes the waves are strong, and at low tide, there is a phenomenon of the current hovering in some areas, so it is better not to go too far away from the sandy beach to the sea.

Feature of Jungmun Beach
In addition, one of the best feature of Jungmun Beach is the sand has a variety of colors, such as black, white, red and gray which is called as Jinmosal.ย Why this beach has became so popular? Because this colorful sandy beach has appeared in some dramas and movies as its beautiful, scenery and romantic view makes a perfect place for filming. Here are some of the pictures;
So let’s start what we can do near the beach!

Things to doย
First of all, when you arrive the beach, I recommend taking some beautiful photos at the coffee shop which has a scenery view from the beach and you can find some coffee shops near the beach. Because when you start swimming all your make up and beautiful clothes will be wet so after some shoots you can just enjoy swimming. In addition, the prices of coffees and desserts are a little bit expensive but I think it’s worth to buy them.

After that, finally I started swimming even I can’t swim, so sad! People like me who can’t swim of course can rent swimming balloons and it costs around 10,000 won. And as I said this beach is great place to see huge waves and enjoy surfing. For sure, you can organize some games or sports with your friends or engage in adrenaline-pumping water marine sports which I mentioned above.

How to get there
You can take bus from Jeju International Airport, head to Exit 1 and catch #600. It will take around 50 minutes on the bus and when you reach Hyatt Hotel in Jungmun Tourist Complex where you should get off. And of course you can go by taxi which usually takes around 30 minutes. Just you should say the name of the and that’s all. Have a nice trip in Jeju!
Operating Hours: 10:00-19:00
Admission Fees: Free
My Tip:
In the early morning or late afternoon are the best time to enjoy the beach, because usually not very crowded during these times of the day. We couldn’t find the changing rooms at that time so we had to change our swimming clothes in the toilet. But you can have a shower after swimming which we found at least this place.
