For world tourists, South Korea has been recognized as one of the gourmet tour destinations because it has an abundance of unique and tasty foods. But for Muslim travelers who should follow Shari’ah (Islamic low), it is not easy to choose good and reliable restaurants with halal food. What is halal? Halal is Arabic for permissible. Halal food is that which adheres to Islamic law, as defined in the Koran. Today I would like to tell about three Muslim Friendly restaurants located in Seoul, where you can enjoy food with no worries. All restaurants are certified by Korea Tourism Organization. You can find “Muslim friendly” sticker on the menu or at the entrance of the restaurant.
BABA INDIA
This restaurant is located in Gangnam, that one of the must visit spots in Korea. The location of place is very comfortable. It should not be hard to get there from the Gangnam station (강남역).
I made a trip down and absolutely loved their fabulous food!!! The restaurant serves Indian food using halal-certified ingredients. Baba India has a total of twenty two different curries on their menu. They have six varieties of vegetable curry, four varieties of chicken curry, three varieties of lamb curry, five varieties of seafood curry and two varieties of beef curry. Chicken, lamb and beef are halal.
We tried Chicken Makhani (+Garlic Nan), Palak Paneer (+Plain Nan) curry and fresh salad. Their curry with naan tastes absolutely wonderful! You can also try fantastic samosa, Tandoori chicken, vegetable rolls, lassi drink.
Service, staff and atmosphere was good. Prices for curry are reasonable. I will go back^^.
Enjoy tasty and nutritious food in Baba India and make unforgettable memories.

THE HALAL GUYS
The Halal Guys (할랄가이즈) is a pioneer in the American halal food industry. Called “one of the longest-running and best-known food-cart businesses in New York City” by the New York Times, The Halal Guys is now franchising worldwide.
Today The Halal Guys has two locations in Korea (Itaewon and Hongdae), and we went to visit their Gangnam location. The main colors of building are red and yellow. You can easy find this place, because it’s located at first floor of the building and their colorful logo is big. When you enter you can also see red and yellow colored tables. I guess it’s restaurant’s fashion. There is one big and long table on the middle and regular tables around.
The order of food is doing on the counter, where there is a big sized simple menu board. They serve platters, sandwiches, baklava desert and some sides such as hummus and French fries. All dishes make with halal ingredients.
We tried Couple set (=21,000 WON). It consists of chicken platter, secret fries and Fountain soda. We did not wait so long for prepared dishes^^. Their signature white sauce over dishes is really delicious and also memorable. The good point is that portions are good sized ㅋㅋㅋ ㅋㅋ. With a budget of 21,000 WON for two persons, you can enjoy a nice and hearty meal over here. The restaurant also has a prayer room for Muslim guests.
The restaurant was clean and orderly. I was very satisfied with their food and friendly staff. Totally recommend it! Great prices and excellent food are waiting for you.
