Today I would like to introduce a wonderful place called “Tea Therapy” (티테라피). If you are interested in a healing experience, this place is definitely for you. It has two branches: Apgujeong, which is located in Gangnam, and Haengrang in Jongno. I visited Haengrang Branch and I liked it very much. But need to say, that the main branch is Apgujeong. It has a seminar room for tea classes and foot bath facility inside of café.

How to get to “The Therapy”?
The location is convenient to get there by public transport. It should not be hard to get there from subway station.

- The line #3: Anguk station, exit 2 (Jongno branch)
- The line #3: Apgujeong station, exit 1 (Apgujeong branch)
The Haengrang branch is old-fashioned and has a classic atmosphere, because the building is in part of restored house, where was born Yun Posun, a president of South Korea from 1960 to 1962. The building has been selected as a cultural asset. The facility is so beautiful and nice to take pictures.
What does “The Therapy” offer?
#Different kinds of tea and special lunch
“Tea Therapy” has so many kinds of tea. Every tea has its description. If you don’t know what flavor to choose, don’t worry. They have simple test with Yes or No answers to find which one is more suit for you. I found these kinds of teas more useful and healthy for body.
- “Gammo tea” is good for preventing a cold.
- “Boeum tea” helps to make skin moist and clear.
- Another one is “Anshim tea”. It helps to sleep well.
- One of the most popular flavors is “Hyangtong” tea. They recommend to try it if you feel pain behind your eyes or in shoulders from stress and anxiety.
- You can try “Ongeyong tea”, if you have cold hands and feet, because of heavy blood circulation.
- “Gongwi tea” improves a poor digestion and weak stomach.
- “Boshin tea” will help to improve raising of stamina and stay young.
- “Geowoosari tea” is effective for increasing the immune system and strengthen a body.
The price of local tea is about 6,000-8,000 WON. And also they offer a healthy meal. The special lunch is available from 12:30 to 14:00. The menu includes Tofu salad & Rice bowl with Flying-fish roe (=8,000 WON), Pork tomato salsa sauce with rice (=8,000 WON), Minced Beef and Beans Curry (=8,000 WON), Grilled salmon with rice and Green salad (=8,000 WON). All menus include side dishes, soup, tea and small salad.
#Tea lesson

Tea lesson
Another great thing to do. The lesson can be introduced by three topics. They are “tea good for women”, “anti-aging” and “tea therapy for stress”. Every topic includes useful information and tea tasting. We chose “tea good for women”. So, we could have listened an amazing lesson and have tried nine kinds of tea, that are good for women health. They also offer some Korean traditional snacks with tea.

The tea lesson is usually introduced by owner of this place. The owner is a certified Oriental medicine doctor. All the ingredients of tea are prepared in house. Teas for women health have an effect such as warm the cold hands and feet, improve blood flow, strengthen the immune system, recover energy and relieve stress. My bests were Jujube, Cinnamon Bark and Peppermint. Jujube helps sleep better, soothes anxiety and regulates blood circulation. Cinnamon Bark stimulates appetite and settles an upset stomach. Peppermint tea makes stress free and improves digestion. I haven’t seen and tried so various kinds of tea. At the end of lesson, you will have good feelings and be relaxed.
Price: 50,000 WON (class available for two persons or more / price per person)
#Foot bath

Be sure to not miss this thing to do in “Tea Therapy”. Near the entrance you can find a foot bath zone. They offer two kinds of foot bath products. The first one is “Relaxing A” another one is “Warming B”. The type “Relaxing A” is effective for stressed eyes, headaches. The second one improves poor blood circulation. Foot bath lasts during 15-20 minutes. You can also enjoy your cup of tea or reading a book during the foot bath.

I chose “Relaxing A” type for foot bath and had a healing time with cup of fresh tea.
Price: 5,000 WON (including foot bath products)

The café has so relaxing atmosphere, relaxing tea, relaxing music! Service, and staff were good. Prices for teas are reasonable. If you are felling exhausted, come here and relax!!!
