I have read and heard a lot about the Suncheon Wetlands reserve. Everyone kept saying it is a must place to visit in Korea. After visiting the place I got to know why everyone keeps emphasizing visiting this place. I have visited Suncheonman Garden as well along with the Wetland reserves.
Suncheonman National Gardenย
I started my trip from Suncheonman National Garden. The garden is vast and is divided into two zones. The dream bridge divides the garden into the East and West zones. The garden has gardens from various countries to name a few Dutch, French, Mexican, Chinese garden, and so on. It was so fascinating to see gardens of all kinds. The garden was also designated as the number 1 national garden in 2015.
The garden is quite big. Make sure to allot plenty of time to this place if you want to enjoy the beauty of it properly. The thing which fascinated me the most in the garden was Bonghwa hill.
Not only the garden is beautiful, but it is also equipped with all the necessary facilities. The garden has convenience stores and washrooms at almost every corner making it convenient for all the visitors.
Tip!
I suggest you start your tour through East gate especially if you are planning to take the Sky cube to Wetlands. Because the Sky Cube Garden station is situated in the West zone. Trust me you would not like to come back all the way to the west zone.

Suncheon Bay Wetland Reserveย
After visiting gardens I moved towards wetland reserve. It is one of the worldโs five major coastal wetlands. The wetlands are around 5km away from the garden. So I took the sky cube to wetlands. But it does not go until the wetlands. One has still walk to reach the wetlands. At the stop point of the Sky cube, there is the Suncheon Literature museum. It kind of looked closed so I just clicked few pictures from outside.
As soon I reached to wetland I was fascinated by the beauty of it. I wish I had more time in my hands to see the wetlands. It is a really good place to sit and read a book, or talk to friends or just feel the gentle bridge on the face.
Sadly I did not have time to do all these things. So I just took a stroll and headed towards the Observatory, which gives the best view of the wetlands. The observatory is the hotspot to see the sunset. Many photographers come in the evening hours. Sadly on the day, I visited it was cloudy so I could not see the sunset. But the view itself was splendid from there. The hike was all worth it.
Tip!
If you are planning to ride a sky cube to wetlands, donโt buy round trip tickets. I regretted buying a round trip because I did not use it for my return trip. The reasons are-ย Firstlyย the sky cube station is a little far away from the wetlands trust me you would not like to walk back to the station after all the walking and hike. I suggest you take a bus from the exit of the wetlands. Two buses are operating from there i.e. 66 and 67.
Secondly- The last sky cube back to the garden is at 7 PM so you have to be back at the station by 6:50 PM. If you are visiting in summer and staying to see the sunset from there it would be useless to buy a round trip ticket.
You can also visit on the bike but you have to leave the bike outside at the entrance of the wetlands. You are not allowed to carry it inside.
The last cafรฉ is before the bridge. And the last washroom is at the starting point of the hike to the observatory. You will see the big board stating that โthis is the last washroomโ so donโt worry about forgetting it ๐ Also, make sure to allot plenty of time. It almost takes a whole day to see all the attractions.
