In this trip I visited the main attraction of Busan – Haedong Yonggung. This temple is named as the most beautiful temple in Korea. Because the temple is located on the beachside and it has a very beautiful view. The interior design is complex and beautiful. In a word it is very unique and amazing temple!
An awesome temple located right off the ocean and has stunning views. Haedong Yonggung temple, the southern most temple near the east sea was founded by the great monk Naong, who was the consultant of King Gongmin.
What Are The Things You Can See in Haedong Yonggungsa Temple?
ย
At the entrance you will be greeted by all the twelve animals of the zodiac.

Beautiful place to see and take pictures. Because of this, it is famous place in Busan.

A lot of Korean praying in the temple and very clean as well.
The temple ambiance takes you to another world.
Golden Buddha Statue
The view is amazing and the temple itself is very nice! While you enjoy this sea water’ slashing sound and the sunset you will forget about yourselves and bet absorbed into the world of wonder.
ย
I think Haedong Yonggung as the most beautiful temple in Korea because of its location.
On the way to Haedong Yonggungsa Temple
You can go to a cafe and drink coffee, eat fish cakes, or the delicious traditional Hotteok (ํธ๋ก). ย It is a type of filled Korean pancake (very popular street foodย inย South Korea).
There is one small drawback. It may be a little inaccessible for those who have difficulty walking up and down stairs.
But there is one thing. During the day there are a lot of visitors and always noisy. And on the way to the temple there are many small shops selling various fruits, toys, apparels & souvenirs, bbq seafoods.
I believe that in such a sacred place as a temple, it should be quiet and calm. People should come here to rest. But because of the noise and the smell of food, you cannot do any of this. I expected a little different from this place. It seems to me that people can eat nothing for one – two hours and watch the temple calmly. I would not want such a sacred place to resemble a market.
There is also a small parking lot. And the toilet, by the way, is only next to the parking lot and near the temple. There will be no toilet along the way, keep in mind.
*Be careful, because there are many uneven steps and you can accidentally fall. There are also no conditions for disabled people and children in wheelchairs. Because everywhere you need to go up and down stairs. There is no elevator or escalator.
A couple of tips from me
- Wear comfortable shoes, because you will need to climb on foot for about ten – fifteen minutes;
- Take warm clothes with you, because itโs very windy there and you can freeze;
- And go there in the morning to avoid crowd.

How to get there
Getting to the temple is not at all difficult. This can be done by bus or taxi. If you decide to take the metro, you will need to take a bus to get to the temple itself.
