While we were in the middle of looking for unique cafes, one of my friends came out with an idea of visiting a dog cafe and that brought us to here, Puppy Dog! Dog lovers must never miss this!
Brief Introduction of Puppy Dog (dog cafe)
Located in the middle of youngsters’ “hot place”- Sinchon, Puppy Dog is a famous dog cafe for puppy lovers which available for more than 15 varieties of dog breeds. Not only as a dog cafe, it also serves as dog saloon, dog hotel and even an adoption center. For more easier searching on Internet, Puppy Dog was previously named as “Daeng daeng”, which means “puppy” in Korean.
They operate from 2pm to 9pm on every Weekdays and the are closed on Weekends as far as I know. That may vary due to current situation. Be sure to check their hours before visiting!
Our Experience in Puppy Dog
Walking right down the stairs, you may see a TV broadcasting the cute puppies playing with people and an open door leading to the dog cafe. Before entering the area with puppies, we were required to wash our hands, sanitize ourselves with sanitizers and we chose our drinks. Each person was required to order at least one drink in order to enjoy the cafe. The prices were a little bit high but it was reasonable considering that it was not a usual cafe. And, we ordered drinks for each of us and two packets of dog food for feeding experience.
Entering the Dog Cafe
And then, we were guided cross the fence to enter into the puppy space. At first, the puppies seemed to have zero interest in us the strangers but later when we started feeding one of the dogs, more and more of them started approaching. Some were kind of aggressive while some remained cool.
Other than the open area with tables for coffee and drinks, there was also a small specialized space for small puppies. There were small blankets and pillows provided for the puppies. One could enter the space and enjoy time with the baby puppies but must not stand to avoid scaring the puppies.
And, here I attach my favorite dog among the dogs!
He was very brilliant and tame. He never climbed over my body to fight for food but he literally stood in line and waited for his turn to get food.
Here is a wall written with some do’s and don’ts.
An unexpected show
We also got to watch a show by the staffs there with the dogs, which we didn’t expect. Seems like the dogs were really well trained. I was amazed when the staff said “come here” in Korean and the dogs ran to the staff and sat still in front of him. Then I tried to do the same but it didn’t work out! (haha)
And here is a picture of this depressed dog. He looked sad and he did not talk, I mean interact, to any other dogs. I wonder if anything happened to him… (sob). It was interesting watching dogs, even we cannot fully understand them.
Taking pictures with them
We also got to take pictures with the dogs and it was very hard to get a nice shot.
After some time being there, the dogs seemed to get sleepy. Many of them started lying everywhere on the floor and some on the bench. The view was so lovely.
Before Leaving Puppy Dog (dog cafe)
Before leaving the cafe, we cleaned up the fur stuck on our clothes with the tools provided, washed our hands, and sanitized ourselves once again.
